BLOG ADHD Awareness Month: Understanding and Supporting the ADHD Community
October is ADHD Awareness Month—let’s raise awareness, break stigmas, and support those living with ADHD.
October is National ADHD Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and the unique challenges faced by individuals diagnosed with this condition. ADHD is a neurological disorder that affects how the brain processes information and controls impulses. Symptoms may manifest as inattention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity, and often start before the age of 12. This condition impacts people in various settings, from home to school or work, and can interfere with daily life, making organization and task management difficult. During ADHD Awareness Month, it’s important to break down stigmas, promote understanding, and encourage the community to recognize that ADHD takes many forms and affects each person differently. By fostering greater awareness, we can contribute to creating more supportive environments where individuals with ADHD thrive.
