Marnie Reiher has been a Manager with Arion Care Solutions since September 2008. She primarily works in the central area of Phoenix. Her background stems from a friend telling her close to 30 years ago, “I think I have the perfect job for you!” Boy, did she ever! Marnie began working in a group home in Minnesota in 1989. She had found her passion working with people with developmental and physical challenges. Marnie’s experience ranges from that first position in a group home in Minnesota to working in a day program when she moved to Arizona nearly 26 years ago, providing direct care in people’s homes, working for the Division of Developmental Disabilities as a Support Coordinator, a Support Coordination Supervisor, and then having the distinction of being made the Individually Designed Living Arrangement Specialist for DDD. She takes great pride in advocating for people of all ages, yet she knew immediately she had found her passion within the IDLA’s. Marnie finally found her home with Arion 10 years ago. She continues to support people of all ages and abilities, and moreover she continues to be given the opportunity to “think outside the box” in all areas and services, with particular regard to Individually Designed Living situations.
When she is not working, she can be heard all the way back in Minnesota cheering for the Vikings, she is a photography hobbyist, she enjoys sharing ideas and having great discussions, meeting people from all walks of life and laughing and talking with them, and she is an avid animal enthusiast. What is something that you will be hard pressed to see from her? “Shaking hands,” she exclaims! She has never been a fan of a hand shake for as long as she can remember, according to her. “We all have our eccentricities,” she says with a smile.
